Marine Robotics
On the Marine Robotics Team, we attend two competitions. The first is the MATE ROV Competitions where we build an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to solve a series of real world challenges ranging from installing floating solar panels to creating 3D models of coral. We have placed as highly as 8th in the world at MATE. Our ROV We also build an electric boat for the ASNE PEP competition. The unmanned vehicle races 2 to 5 miles depending on category and features a custom build hull and propulsion system. We also do research into making the world of marine robotics more accessible.
